Esta obra es una verdadera composición artística, que cuida el ritmo del lenguaje con un léxico erudito. Y si bien parte de un examen científico minucioso, el mundo interior y creativo de la autora traduce su prosa con dinámica ágil y atractivos ejemplos poético-musicales. Articula dos sistemas semánticos: la poesía y la música, vinculados íntimamente en un todo indivisible, el Lied. En el marco de la Literatura Comparada es una propuesta original por el tratamiento exhaustivo e interrelacionado de los dos lenguajes artísticos. Considerada en su momento una tesis sobresaliente, se constituye ahora en la primera publicación en idioma español de la obra completa para canto y piano de Richard Strauss (1864-1949), dedicada al género Lied. El compositor escogió para sus Lieder una variada paleta de autores y poemas que abarca un período amplísimo de la lírica alemana (desde el comienzo del S. XVIII hasta el S. XX), siendo J. W. von Goethe (1749-1832) la figura central y Leitmotiv. La metodología innovadora diseñada por la autora toma como base la teoría métrica de Horst Frank (1993) y la acentual de Christian Wagenknecht (reeditado en el 2007) vislumbrándose, en algunos pasajes, su juicio crítico con respecto a la opinión de especialistas y biógrafos. El libro presenta el corpus completo de poesías en su idioma original, el alemán. Destinado a lectores cautivados por la poesía y la música, se constituye sobre todo en una herramienta esencial para músicos que quieran conocer texto y contexto de este tipo de repertorio.

About the Author :
Cristina Alfonso von Matuschka es artista-académica de trayectoria internacional, concertista de piano, investigadora, crítica especializada y corresponsal desde Alemania. Por sus múltiples talentos es considerada una genuina "rara avis" ("seltener Vogel"). En la Universidad Nacional de Cuyo (Mendoza, Argentina) obtuvo los títulos de Licenciada en Música (pianista) y de Doctora en Letras (Literatura Comparada). Sucesivas becas del Servicio Alemán de Intercambio Académico (DAAD) apoyaron sus estadías de postgrado e investigación con el Prof. Dr. Reinhold Weyer (Otto-Friedrich-Universität, Bamberg), con el Prof. Hon. Manfred Ball (Hochschule für Musik und Theater, Munich) y con el Prof. Dr. Sebastian Donat (Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität, LMU Munich). Es investigadora de la UNCuyo y en la LMU coopera--desde Argentina--con la edición de la obra de Richard Strauss, bajo la dirección del Prof. Dr. Hartmut Schick. Por su relevante actividad como difusora de las artes (música, danza, literatura), recibió del Goethe-Institut Munich, la beca para Multiplicadores Culturales.
