About the Book

Abby Lesko married the son of wealthy ranch owner, Bob Thacker, three years ago and no one has seen her since. Maude Lesko is desperate to know if her daughter is alive or dead. She approaches Matt Bannister, the new U.S. Marshal, for his help. The marshal refuses to make a special trip to distant Sweethome, but promises to check on Abby if he's ever in the area. Unknown to both, Abby lives in a dark and hopeless world of abuse and imprisonment. In Sweethome, Truet's life is about to dramatically change when a horrific crime affects his family. When the law is compromised for the Thacker's sake, Truet takes matters into his own hand and is forced to flee Sweethome. Tyrannical Bob Thacker begins a persecution of the local church to find Truet. In his usual manner Bob demands that the U.S. Marshal come to Sweethome to find Truet. Desperate for relief from Bob's oppression, a local lady writes to the marshal begging him to come help them. Matt arrives to face a bee's nest of emotions. To do what's right, Matt goes after Truet to bring him back to be acquitted for his crime. But to choose one side and deceive the other is a dangerous choice to make, especially when it's Bob Thacker your deceiving. When Bob learns of the deception he puts a bounty on the lives of both men. Matt and Truet are forced to fight together to get home alive. Welcome to Sweethome. A town owned by the cruel Thacker family. This sweeping western novel exposes town corruption to religious persecution. From the world of professional boxing to the farthest northern logging camps and the human suffering and tragedies in between Sweethome is written to answer the age old question, "Can any good come out of tragedy?" Abby lives in a dark world of cruel abuse. Through strangers she knows nothing about she finds a light at the end of the tunnel. There is hope for those who believe.
