About the Book

In just seven years, Jaime Schmidt went from making natural products in her Portland, Oregon kitchen to turning her brand into a household name and selling her company in a nine-figure acquisition. Supermaker is her guide to business and career development on your own terms. Through unfiltered storytelling and instructive takeaways, the acclaimed entrepreneur, founder of Schmidt's Naturals, and icon of the Maker Movement shares how you too can start or grow your own business with her secrets on marketing, sales growth, product development, customer engagement, scaling operations, and partnerships. Following Jaime’s journey from market stand to global brand, readers will take away: •    The keys to establishing a financially successful business for entrepreneurs and professionals ready to go from maker to magnate. •    Tactical approaches to branding, PR, sales, marketing, culture development, and team management. •    Candid advice and storytelling from an industry disruptor and proven executive. Following her growth from kitchen to acquisition, Supermaker is a riveting mix of inspiration, the honest airing of mistakes, and indispensable instruction. •    A go-to guide for the passion-to-profit journey. •    The perfect read for aspiring entrepreneurs, makers, creatives, and anyone with an interest in selling their products online, retail strategy, or digital marketing. •    Great for anyone who enjoyed Start Something That Matters by Blake Mycoskie, Craft, Inc: Turn Your Creative Hobby into a Business by Meg Mateo Ilasco, and The Girls' Guide to Starting Your Own Business: Candid Advice, Frank Talk, and True Stories for the Successful Entrepreneur by Caitlin Friedman.

About the Author :
Jaime Schmidt is the quintessential maker-made-good. As the founder and former CEO of Schmidt’s, Jaime led the brand to sales in over 30 countries and onto the shelves of Target, Costco, CVS, Walmart, and Whole Foods. The brand was acquired by Unilever in 2017, with Jaime continuing to support their global expansion and partnerships with the likes of Jane Goodall and Justin Bieber. After selling Schmidt's, Jaime established new companies designed to support emerging entrepreneurs in achieving their own dreams. Alongside her husband Chris Cantino, she is co-founder of Supermaker, a media platform featuring diverse, independent brands and modern workplace values. They are also the founders of Color, an investment fund that supports entrepreneurs largely excluded from the venture financing system—primarily women and people of color. Jaime has been recognized twice by Goldman Sachs' 100 Most Intriguing Entrepreneurs awards, Ernst & Young's Pacific Northwest Entrepreneur of the Year, Inc.’s Female Founders 100, the Create & Cultivate 100, and is an inaugural mentor of the Inc. Founders Project.

Review :
"Supermaker tells the story of how passion and determination can build a successful brand." -Tony Hsieh, New York Times bestselling author of Delivering Happiness and CEO of Zappos.com, Inc. "[Schmidt] intersperses her very personal, very readable story of making it with hard-won knowledge captured in sidebars: how to work your booth, taking feedback seriously, what's in a name, and determining when to turn hobbies into business, among other topics.. An easy read, with lessons to remember." -Booklist "If you have an idea, follow Schmidt's playbook." -Forbes "Jaime is not only a successful business woman but also a phenomenal storyteller who isn't afraid to be transparent about the ups and downs of being an entrepreneur. Could not recommend this book enough for anyone starting out and looking for guidance. She is full of wisdom." -Jaclyn Johnson, CEO and founder of Create Cultivate "[A] behind-the-scenes look at Schmidt's business strategies, designed to inspire and advise entrepreneurs hoping to follow a similar path to startup success." -Entrepreneur "I'm so inspired by Jaime. As an entrepreneur myself, I love observing the journeys of women who have built massive businesses led by passion. When I look at what Jaime has built, I see more than a product. I see innovation and purpose. I am soaking in every chapter of this book as learnings!" -Deepica Mutyala, founder and CEO at Live Tinted "It didn't take long for consumers nationwide to fall in love with her line of personal care products made with passion." -Marie Claire "Jaime Schmidt is the quintessential maker-made-good." -Inc. "Jaime Schmidt's Supermaker contains the secret sauce for launching and executing a successful business plan. It's a must-read for emerging entrepreneurs!" -Barbara Corcoran, Founder of The Corcoran Group and Shark on Shark Tank "Jaime's story of founding Schmidt's from her kitchen and growing it into a global brand is one for the ages." -Paul Polman, Unilever "The greatest gift in Jaime's new book, Supermaker, is not only learning from her experience building, scaling, and selling Schmidt's Naturals but also just how relatable her story is for us all. We can all see ourselves in Jaime's story." -Arlan Hamilton, founder of Backstage Capital

A Thrilling But Totally Believable Murder Mystery

Read this in one evening. I had planned to do other things with my day, but it was impossible to put down. Every time I tried, I was drawn back to it in less than 5 minutes. I sobbed my eyes out the entire last 100 pages. Highly recommend!
