About the Book

Funny, in your face, and irreverent, The Denzel Principle is guaranteed to strike a chord--and most likely a nerve--with black women everywhere. The Denzel Principle is the belief that the perfect man--the epitome of all the things women think Denzel Washington represents--exists off screen, and you get one for your very own without settling for less: the regular good man need not apply. "The Dizzle", aka Mr. Perfect, is tough but vulnerable, accessible but not transparent, political but not radical, mannish but not macho, sexy but not solicitous, passionate but not hysterical, doting but not docile--and all these things on cue and in proper measure. The Denzel Principle gives up-front advice to women on how to break this cycle, including "Ways to Attract Mr. Right" and "Ten Reasons to Love Ordinary Black Men."

About the Author :
Jimi Izrael is an award-winning reporter and culture-critic from Shaker Heights, Ohio, who currently moderates "The Barbershop" for National Public Radio's Tell Me More with Michel Martin, and blogs "The Hardline" for the Washington Post's The Root.com. He earned a BA in communications from Cleveland State University and an MFA degree from Spalding University. Dion Graham, from HBO's The Wire, also narrates The First 48 on A&E. Winner of more than a dozen Earphones Awards and the prestigious Audie Award for best narration, he has performed on Broadway, off Broadway, internationally, in films, and in several hit television series. His performances have been praised as thoughtful and compelling, vivid and full of life.

Review :
"Izrael discusses a serious topic with a frank, in-your-face manner and peppers his text with laugh-out-loud humor and a bit of irreverence. The results are worth considering for the self-help crowd." -- "Library Journal"
