About the Book

The Devil Wears Prada meets Entourage in this sharp, glitzy ride through the backstabbing and ambitious world of a literary agent. Sassy super-agent Tess Drake has worked hard to make a name for herself in the glamorous yet cut-throat entertainment industry. As part of a multinational firm, she deals with some of the world's biggest egos--and that's just those inside the agency. When Tess' sworn enemy, Cosima Tate, takes over the firm after the mysterious death of a senior partner, Tess thinks it's time to get out and start her own agency. But to make it, she needs to take her biggest client with her--and Cosima is not about to let that happen. Money, power, pride, and personal vendettas are in play, and Cosmia will stop at nothing to see Tess go down in flames. With an unsolved murder investigation going, a secret affair to protect, and her career at stake, Tess is going to need plenty of guts to make it in this fast-paced, high-stakes game of risk and revenge. Can she jump ship and survive, or is she about to be crushed under Cosima's stilettoed heel?

Review :
"[A] delicious mash-up of chick-lit and thriller...offers X-Acto-sharp dialogue, steamy sex scenes, a lot of skullduggery, and a heroine more appealing when she's naughty than when she's nice." -- "South Florida Sun-Sentinel" "A delicious read! Even more entertaining than Sex & the City and Lipstick Jungle combined...The Agency is one hot, exciting, and sexy book, with a seductive plot that makes those pages fly. Don't miss this exquisite jewel!" -- "Publishers Weekly" "A surprisingly single-minded page-turner, packed with a colorful assortment of egomaniacs and more plot twists than Lindsay Lohan's love life...the literary equivalent of a dry martini: salty, intoxicating, and curiously delicious." -- "New York Daily News" "Entertaining...witty...a delight." -- "People magazine" "Kate Reading's capable narration lends credibility to this wacky novel about a sexy literary agent in London...Reading's narration lends an endearing note to Tess' aspirations in the fast-paced, glamorous world of international publishing...Listeners will root for Tess' success despite their doubts about whether she deserves it." -- "AudioFile" "O'Brien's novel is as cutthroat, merciless, and entertaining as a celebrity gossip Web site." -- "Booklist" "The duo writing as O'Brien proves there's nothing like teamwork. The book combines genres effectively, melding into one fantastic novel...Cleverness abounds, especially in the dialogue and plot twists." -- "Romantic Times (4 stars)" "This whodunit from O'Brien is a sharp and sexy introduction to the cutthroat world of media agents. Readers who enjoyed The Devil Wears Prada or Bridget Jones's Diary will love this novel for its humor, spirited heroine, and abundance of catty antagonists and snappy dialog. Recommended for public libraries." -- "Library Journal" "With an insider's take on the book biz, and an appealingly foul-mouthed heroine, this debut is fast, funny and a bit nasty--not unlike Tess. A naughty, catty good time." -- "Kirkus Reviews"
