About the Book

In Ahrend Walters' third book, The Pondering Wonder in Musing, he continues to write poetry from his heart. As he explores themes such as faith, relationships, nature, music, harmony and beauty we get an insight into his growing creativity. Walters' process is to write poetry that is spontaneous and heartfelt. He refuses to spend a great deal of time on editing or revisions so that he can give birth to this spontaneous art and not give inordinate attention to himself. He has dedicated his works to God and points to Jesus Christ as the only true perfection. He believes that Christ is using him and the creativity he was gifted with to show that all creativity can only reach perfection through Christ, no matter how talented one is. The author is not afraid to give intimate information about his life journey, including struggles he has with a mental condition. He was forced to undergo psychiatric evaluation and to take medication. It is Ahrend's strong belief that medication is not the answer in his case. Through his faith in Christ he has been restored to mental clarity. You will find in his poetry that he uses language that can be interpreted on more than one level. Even within the seeming contradictions or paradox of his works a reader can discover the light of his belief, his faith in a God that loves all and desires all to know Him better through Christ his son. What some people might view as a disease Ahrend considers to be a gift. Christ keeps him balanced and with Christ Ahrend's disease is a gift, but without Christ Ahrend's gift is a disease. During the writing of the poetry for this book Ahrend Walters dealt with a romantic breakup that caused him much pain. He also faced thedilemma of what he should dedicate his life to. It was often a time of chaos in his life, but it led to his acceptance of imperfection combined with creative genius. The author writes with an open mind and is both very expressive, with no limitations and some people might not understand it. Some may consider it too abstract. But, at other times his writing is more narrow and straight to the point. Both approaches are by design to reach people who have different views and perspectives.
