We are All the Same

"We Are All The Same" follows the travels of a young boy within his community as he seeks to understand the question, "Why do people look differently?" As the child's journey progresses, he develops an increased awareness, understanding and appreciation of human diversity through the cultural richness of his community. He further understands the complexities of human physical diversity as the similarities among people's external features are sometimes indistinguishable. The inclusion of suggested activities, which enhance the message of the story, provides young children with introductory activities about the world around them. About the Author :
Dr. Marie Smith-Stewart, a private practitioner, provides diagnostic assessment and counseling/psychological services to children, adolescents, and their families. Dr. Stewart has worked in various clinical and educational/university settings. Additionally, she presents workshops on related issues. She is married to Byron Alonzo Stewart. Alonzo and Celeste are their two children. Eddie Lee Bursey is a junior enrolled at L.E. Rabouin Career Magnet Academy of the New Orleans Public Schools. He is an honors student and is talented in the arts. Presently, he is studying commercial art, under the supervision of Mrs. Madeleine Neske Rowlison. He intends to attend college and major in graphic design. Eddie has been drawing since elementary school. His drawings have been awarded prizes for their quality in several contests. His primary medium is Prismacolor art pencils. He is the son of Janice and Huey Bursey, Jr. He has two older brothers: Huey, III, and Theodore.
