About the Book

The Cocaine industry is worth billions of dollars a year to the drug cartels who spread their evil seed across Western society. Its usage causes incalculable misery, poverty and death. Slowly, gradually, inexorably it is spreading...it is a blight which must be stopped. One man, Paul Devereaux, intellectual, dedicated, utterly ruthless and ex-CIA special ops, is given what seems like an impossible task. At his disposal, anything he wants - men, resources, money. He will not stop until he has completed his mission. Up to now the drug trade has been used to world governments attempting to prevent them plying their trade. But up to now, those governments have played by the rules. That is about to change. The rules no longer apply... and a dirty war is about to get a whole lot dirtier...

About the Author :
Frederick Forsyth (Author) Former RAF pilot and investigative journalist Frederick Forsyth defined the modern thriller when he wrote The Day of the Jackal, described by Lee Child as ‘the book that broke the mould’, with its lightning-paced storytelling, effortlessly cool reality and unique insider information. After that, he wrote thirteen novels which became bestsellers around the world: The Odessa File, The Dogs of War, The Devil’s Alternative, The Fourth Protocol, The Negotiator, The Deceiver, The Fist of God, Icon, Avenger, The Afghan, The Cobra, The Kill List and The Fox. He also published his memoirs in The Outsider. Frederick Forsyth died in June 2025. Robert Powell (Reader) Robert Powell is known worldwide for his multi-award- winning portrayal of Jesus in Franco Zeffirelli's Jesus of Nazareth. His extensive stage, film and TV career includes Tom Stoppard's Jumpers, the title role in Ken Russell's Mahler, and Richard Hannay in the TV series of the same name as well as the feature film of The Thirty-nine Steps.

Review :
The Cobra creates a vividly cinematic picture of the worldwide cocaine trade. Forsyth has recharged his batteries, producing his most ambitious novel in years by reproducing the minutely organised detail of his most famous book. As ever with Forsyth, there is an impressive command of armed weaponry as well as an utterly believable story that moves along at a breakneck pace...Extraordinarily impressive. This new blockbuster from one of the world's sharpest authors is everything a modern thriller should be and more!
