About the Book

Succession meets Lucy Foley's The Guest List in this thriller with a big heart and even bigger surprises, from the author of Hidden Pictures. 'Kept my heart racing and my mind reeling' Riley Sager 'The best thriller I've read all year' Grady Hendrix 'Rekulak knows how to keep readers glued to the page' Mary Kubica 'One of the best books of the year' First Clue 'A dynamite thriller with a fizzing fuse' Peterborough Telegraph The guests are arriving, and the celebrations are starting. But there's something strange about this wedding... Frank Szatowski hasn't seen his daughter Maggie in years, and it breaks his heart every day. So when she calls him out of the blue, to tell him that she's getting married and he's invited, Frank is overjoyed. Maggie is marrying into one of the richest families in the country, and Frank finds himself overwhelmed by the social circle she now moves in. He'll do anything to reconnect, though, and arrives at their New Hampshire estate ready to bond however he can with Maggie's in-laws. But as the wedding weekend gets underway, it becomes clear to Frank that although they have spared no expense, there's something strange about Maggie's fiance. And maybe Frank shouldn't be celebrating just yet... 'I'd highly recommend for anyone looking for a highly binge-worthy thriller' ***** NetGalley Review 'I loved the characters of Frank and Abigail and found the lives and drama of the mega rich family fascinating. I really didn't want this book to end, I even shed a tear or two when I had finished it' ***** NetGalley Review 'A masterful blend of psychological suspense and family drama...seamlessly intertwines suspense with heartfelt storytelling' ***** NetGalley Review 'This is such a fun thrilling read, you need to pick this up as soon as you can get your hands on it!' ***** NetGalley Review 'Take nothing for granted in this tautly written, wonderfully blended novel with a big heart. Outstanding' ***** NetGalley Review

Review :
PRAISE FOR THE LAST ONE AT THE WEDDING Part conspiracy thriller, part family drama, The Last One at the Wedding kept my heart racing and my mind reeling from its first page to its devastating conclusion The best thriller I've read all year. I haven't had this much fun with a book in a long time I now have a new favourite author . . . Jason Rekulak's characterisation is incredible, and this gripping mystery had such a heart to it. The expertly-crafted twist made me gasp Tense and atmospheric, with characters that draw you immediately in and keep a tight hold, The Last One at the Wedding is every father's worst nightmare. Jason Rekulak knows how to keep readers glued to the page; I couldn't put this one down! Rekulak impresses with this engrossing tale of a widowed father who starts to sense darkness beneath his daughter's impending marriage . . . the unwavering pace will keep readers up all night Fun, propulsive A dynamite thriller with a fizzing fuse . . . 9/10 Jason Rekulak is one of my favourite writers, a gifted storyteller and wonderful stylist. The Last One at the Wedding is a marvellous blend of mystery, family drama, class tension, horror, humour, and heart. A relentless, thoughtful thriller that always keeps you guessing and lingers long after the last page is read I'm going to call it like it is: this is one of the best books of the year. Strong characterisation, a fascinating environment, and a good wallop of suspense makes for one compelling read Rekulak slyly reminds us that money isn't the only thing that blinds us to bad behaviour with a unique combination of class commentary and thrills Suspensefully told, and disturbingly realistic PRAISE FOR HIDDEN PICTURES I loved it. The surprises really surprise and it has that hard-to-achieve propulsiveness that won't let you put it down Must be the boldest double twist of the year. Truly fantastic Genuine jump-scares Tightly plotted and well written . . . A gripping page-turner with intriguing characters and genuinely creepy moments Rekulak has a freakishly fertile imagination A perfect summer thriller Memorable and twisty Whip-smart, creepy as hell . . . Destined to be a classic of the genre
