About the Book

The Bible tells us to pray continually and without ceasing, but what happens when we're waiting for God but discover He's waiting for us? In his first book, pastor and recording artist Travis Greene guides the reader to apply Biblical truths for a fulfilled life. Praying and waiting for God to answer can be confusing. When something--or everything--feels stuck because God doesn't seem to be answering our prayers, what next? Pastor and Grammy–nominated recording artist Travis Greene issues a challenge and asks us to examine our prayers--Are we praying for the right thing? Are we planning and preparing for what we've asked for? Are we praying for our will to grow closer to His? Or do we sometimes treat him like a genie in a bottle? Using Biblical examples, Travis invites readers to reconsider our prayers and navigate beyond feeling trapped to thriving in God’s purposes; learn to use what's left instead of focusing on what was lost; be willing to forgive, wait, and work as God allows; and believe in God's miracles while being a faithful steward of what He has already provided. Sometimes what happens next depends on the choices made right now. And sometimes God has something else in mind for us--something we might never have imagined, or in a way we might not have imagined it! It's possible to press forward into a life filled with joy and expectation for the future! Like the widow who used the oil she had at hand, by using what God has already supplied, Travis encourages the readers that they may be closer to enjoying God's promises than they realize. Management can be a magnet for miracles.

Review :
Are You Praying for the Wrong Thing? is a necessary work for this generation of believers. The premise of the book challenges our make-a-wish mentality with an in-your-face reality of who God is and how He works. Over the years I've had the privilege to watch and learn that Travis's heart has always been for people to encounter and discover the truth of what the Christian faith is. I believe this book has lived up to his desire. My hope is that as we read his book, we fall out of love with the 'God of our dreams' and fall head-over-heels in love with the true and living God. Having known Travis Greene and seen his life, family, fruit, and ministry up close for many years now, it's quite easy to say, 'If he's asking such a provocative question, it's with very good reason.' Talk about a man of prayer. It's the power of prayer, the right prayer, that has not only saved his life as a young child but carried and sustained him to the point of being able to assist us in praying the right ones. I salute this giant, this artist, this pastor, this author, this friend. I love Travis Greene's insight in Are You Praying for the Wrong Thing? We've all missed the mark in praying for the wrong thing. Travis perfectly describes how to align our prayers and desires with God in this book. God wants the very best for us, and Travis has taught us how to learn to ask for just that! I can't wait for people to read this life-changing book and learn how to pray in alignment with their Maker. In life we have heard a lot about the power of prayer and how it can change everything in our lives. But few of us have ever considered that we can pray for the wrong things. Travis Greene takes us on a journey that explores the prayers you don't want answered because they are potentially unhealthy and destructive. Walking by faith requires that you embrace patience and wait until you can see more clearly. Join Travis on this journey and learn to pray for the right things that will give you the abundant life Jesus promised (John 10:10). Travis has written more than a book; it's a blueprint to praying in a way that unlocks heaven and shifts things on earth. Travis is a consistent, creative voice excavating and articulating timeless truth. I've seen the evidence of the subject of this book, prayer, in his life and in his faith! Do not read this book if you're not ready for the insights Travis brings. Are You Praying for the Wrong Thing? empties us of our selfishness and pride--gently but firmly. It leaves us to pray freely and to accept God's plan willfully. Prepare to be changed! I am so proud of my nephew Travis Greene, who's coming out with a much-needed, pointed book on prayer. Out of all the books on prayer, this one will teach how to focus your prayer so that it's not aimed in the wrong direction. This is a must read for your spiritual journey. Make sure you make this a part of your library--you won't be disappointed. In the pursuit of prayer, Travis Greene's revelatory insight illuminates the path towards a profound truth: Are you praying for the wrong thing? Within these pages lies a compelling call to align our petitions with the divine will, unveiling the transformative power of prayers attuned to God's purpose. Through wisdom and practical guidance, Greene navigates the depths of spiritual discernment, unveiling the sacred journey towards praying within the divine blueprint. In this enlightening exploration, readers discover that true fulfillment resides not merely in the answers we seek, but in the alignment of our hearts with the will of the Almighty. Are You Praying for the Wrong Thing? beckons us to a prayer life rich in authenticity and divine communion, where every supplication becomes a sacred dialogue with the One who knows our deepest needs. This book is not merely a guide; it's a transformative journey inviting us to a prayerful existence rooted in the boundless wisdom of God. One thing I know for sure is that Travis can be trusted. If he has written a book on prayer, you need to read it. Travis Greene is a dear friend and brother to me. I have admired him as a global artist and as a pastor. What we are witnessing is the fruit of his prayer life and obedience. So basically, pray and obey! Travis is a walking billboard of it. We get to know God better because of Travis's life and walk! Travis Greene, one of the premier voices of this hour, has penned a brilliant and pragmatic guide that will posture you to experience the awe and all of God in your life.
