Review :
Years of experience
Written with a down to earth personal approach by an author who demonstrates the expertise and experience of many years working in health and weight control. An accessible and thought provoking read for health professionals and anyone with an interest in weight loss for themselves or others. Well written with a great balance between presenting the scientific evidence and examples of case studies and personal anecdotes. The author is very careful not to tell us what we should do but instead provides information to guide us. Even if you are not trying to lose weight there is so much good advice on healthy diet and lifestyle that will enhance your health as a whole.

Blown away
I was blown away by the rich detail and multiple insights into all the variables that contribute to obesity. Alan Jackson singles out highly processed foods (cakes, biscuits, pizza, ready-meals, takeaways, ice-cream, confectionery, crisps, fizzy sugary drinks, the list goes on) as the main culprit in the obesity epidemic which is sweeping the globe. Highly recommended.

A brilliant book
This is a brilliant book that I would highly recommend! Different to other 'diet books' that tell you what to eat ( and how to fail); I really learned a lot about why I am where I am in terms of my weight, and importantly, how to tackle my mindset and lifestyle in order to change things. I have started losing weight already, but more importantly, I am thinking differently about my food choices and my activity levels long term and so am confident this will continue. Follow the Five Insights!

5 Star rating
I am not into weight loss books. This book is much more a lifestyle book. It informs, dispels myths and make you think differently about how you approach your life and how and what you eat. It is brilliantly written in simple very readable terms - even the scientific bits are easy to understand. The author has done his research. I don't feel guilty about my poor diet management, but I certainly understand them better and am better informed about choices I can make going forward. A fantastic book and a brilliant new approach to managing oneself better. Everyone should read this.
