Abstract: Abstract Users' acceptance of a content and learner management system is an essential factor to its successful use in education. This research project explores students' acceptance of a content and learner management system, called Interactive Learning Network (ILN), in use in a postgraduate course in a local university. A simplified Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) was adopted as the framework to explore such acceptance. In TAM, perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use are hypothesized and empirically proven as major determinants of user acceptance of a given information technology. Data collected from 32 participants, who were mainly in-service teachers, were tested against TAM. The findings showed that users' perceived usefulness correlated strongly with users' intention to use ILN. Perceived ease of use, however, did not relate significantly users' intention to use it in statistical sense. No significant, direct correlation was found between perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness. One demographic factor, age of the students, revealed that the junior and senior groups had different orientation towards ILN in terms of perceived usefulness and intention to use. Three critical success factors of perceived usefulness of ILN are identified, namely, course work interactivity, online posting assignment submission and getting feedbacks from instructor, and giving students a greater control over their study by means of centralizing the course materials, classmate email contacts, discussion, etc. Three critical success factors contributing to perceived ease of use of ILN are: ease of navigation, user-centred design and quick loading time, and effectiveness of content. Implications of the findings, self-reflection, and future research are also discussed. Key words and phases: ILN, content and learner management system, perceived ease of use, PEOU, perceived usefulness, PU, intention to use, ITU, technology acceptance model, TAM, information technology, and IT.
