Abstract: ABSTRACT In the academic year 2003-2004, one of the key foci of the development plan in Sun Fong Chung Primary School AM was to enhance the use of online resources to support teaching and learning. This research focused on the implementation and use of the school website into learning and teaching. Using a revised version of the Teacher Professional ICT Attributes Framework (Newhouse, Trinidad & Clarkson, 2002) as reference, a case study was conducted. This dissertation explores the extent to which the school website was used to support and enhance learning and teaching in the school. With reference to the framework, the progressive stage of the school website in the school curriculum was identified. Both quantitative and qualitative research methods were employed. Results indicate that the present development of the school website was in the "Integration" progressive stage in the Attributes Framework (Newhouse et al, 2002). This progressive stage implies that the school website was able to offer a constructivist-learning environment for pupils. Outcomes from this research also suggested that the school is moving towards developing and integrating an effective online learning environment into its curriculum for its pupils. However, findings also revealed that the website is mainly used for off-campus learning. In terms of the effectiveness in enhancing learning and teaching, there were great differences among various subject developments. In the latter part of the study, implications from the findings are discussed and suggestions are made for possible improvement and future development.
