About the Book

The School Counselor’s Guide to Multi-Tiered Systems of Support is the first book to provide school counseling practitioners, students, and faculty with information and resources regarding the alignment and implementation of Comprehensive School Counseling Programs (CSCPs) such as the ASCA National Model and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS). This innovative text provides a strong theoretical and research base, as well as practical examples from the field, case studies, and relevant hands-on resources and tools to assist school counselors in comprehending, facilitating, and strengthening the implementation of CSCPs, particularly through MTSS alignment. Furthermore, chapters include pertinent information from the CACREP standards and the ASCA National Model. This book is an essential resource for pre-service and practicing school counselors, as well as their leaders, supervisors, and faculty looking to better understand and utilize the overlap between CSCPs and MTSS, to strengthen school counseling programs to better serve students, schools, and communities.

Review :
All reviewers took issue on original title (School Counselors’ Guide to Innovation Through Multi-Tiered Systems of Support). I’m not loving the revised one and am happy to take suggestions. "I highly recommend this book for publication. Get it out soon, please! I will be back to teaching core school counseling course in the next academic year and would love to incorporate it for my own and my students’ use. As indicated earlier, it is unique, timely and organized with careful thought to the intended audiences. I anticipate that my future students will also make considerable use of the text once they are in the field too." Emily Mason, Associate Professor, Counseling and Special Education, DePaul University, USA "It is a great idea and original from that approach. It needs tight outlines to make sure there isn’t too much overlap and redundancy from author to author." Carol Dahir, Professor and Chair, Department of School Counseling, New York Institute of Technology, USA "I think this book would be useful. When working with schools I consistently refer to the MTSS as the way to organize interventions. It seems surprising to me that a book detailing this approach has not been written earlier. This fills a gap in the training literature." Brett Zyromski, Assistant Professor, The College of Education and Human Ecology: Counselor Education, The Ohio State University, USA
