About the Book

The book presents an objective and adequate reflection of the geomechanical loading processes of elements of various types of mine workings support systems, including modern designs of roof bolts and compressible frame-and-bolt supports. Calculations of the interaction processes of the frame, roof bolt and frame-and-bolt supports with the rock massif are performed by means of modern computer programs using methods of computational experiment. New methods for calculating the rational parameters for supporting mine workings and roof bolt elements on the basis of the established and mathematically described regularities of the connection between the parameters of supporting means and the geomechanical factors of workings maintenance have been developed.
