Brought together by a multidisciplinary team, this book presents a critical overview of the key theoretical perspectives that underpin mental health practice, examining both traditional and contemporary schools of thought. Review :
This is an excellent update for the new edition, which does justice to the optimism that characterizes current policy and practice in mental health. Written by experienced practitioners and educators, it brings together concepts and perspectives from across the field of mental health. It will be a valuable resource for students undertaking professional qualifications in a range of disciplines. A welcome second edition of this must-read textbook that does not disappoint. The authors retain their engaging style that instructs the reader on the various perspectives on mental health without favouring any. Brought up to date with new material on religion, spirituality and trauma, the book also affords contemporary insight. The strengthened perspective from those with lived experience and additional focus on the environment bring real currency. This book covers a complex area made readily accessible for which the authors are to be commended. Models of Mental Health is a masterful and comprehensive exploration of the field, offering an insightful yet accessible review of key concepts. The clarity and depth of the text makes complex ideas easy to grasp, making it an invaluable resource for both students and professionals.
