About the Author :
Prolific writer Geoff Johns began his career penning Stars and STRIPE for DC, but his star rose significantly when he took over JSA and Flash, and relaunched Teen Titans to great critical acclaim. Johns then wrote several Marvel books - including an extended Avengers run and the Morlocks, Vision and Thing- Freakshow miniseries. However, Johns is best known for bringing Hal Jordan back to the pages of Green Lantern and helming Infinite Crisis, the best-selling sequel to DC's famous Crisis on Infinite Earths. He was also one of the creative forces behind the hit weekly series 52 and later turned his magic touch to the Silver Age once more by bringing back Barry Allen in Flash- Rebirth. Johns has won Wizard magazine's Best Writer award four years straight and has written episodes of the Blade, Justice League Unlimited and Smallville TV shows. He maintains a writing studio in Los Angeles with fellow luminaries Jeph Loeb and Allan Heinberg. Writer/illustrator Chuck Austen got his start in 1983, providing artwork for The Badger and Miracleman soon after. He went on to write and illustrate Marvel's U.S. War Machine, as well as a follow-up limited series, and DC's Action Comics. For Marvel, he has also written Captain America, Uncanny X-Men and Exiles. Artist Olivier Coipel caught the eyes of Avengers fans with his work in a series of startlingly fresh and exciting stories in 2004, then delivered a star turn on the 2005 blockbuster limited series House of M. Proving his mettle with the grand splendor and huge cast of a Marvel epic, he earned the plum assignment of restoring the hallowed halls of Asgard to grandeur in J. Michael Straczynski's Thor. Again called on to illustrate a Marvel mega-event, Coipel reunited with House of M writer Brian Michael Bendis on Siege. His subsequent credits include returns to the world of the Thunder God, as well as contributions to Amazing Spider-Man, X-Men and Avengers vs. X-Men. A professional comic-book artist since the late 1980s, Kieron Dwyer also works in film, television, books and advertising. He co-created the Swing Town animated series, taught at the Academy of Art College, produced storyboards for film and TV projects such as Batman Beyond and had his drawings prominently featured in the motion picture Sky High. Dwyer's many Marvel credits include a long run penciling Captain America, shorter stints on Avengers and Thing and work on other titles such as Avengers Spotlight, Classic X-Men, Deadpool/GLI- Summer Fun Spectacular, Solo Avengers and X-Factor. In addition to DC projects such as Action Comics and Batman, Dwyer has co-created indie comics Night Mary, Remains, Last of the Independents and Sea of Red. Artist Gary Frank honed his powerful yet finely detailed style at Marvel UK on titles such as Motormouth, Killpower and Dark Angel before breaking out with an extended run on Incredible Hulk with writer Peter David. Frank later took on Supreme Power and Squadron Supreme, helping writer J. Michael Straczynski realize his new vision of a world giving birth to its first generation of super heroes.
