Let us observe on this occafion, and as we pass along, that a national party (such a party as the court adopts, in contradistincftion to such a party asit creates) will always retain some national-principles, some regard to the constitution. They may be transportcd; or surprized, during the heat of contestespecially, into measures of long and fatal consequences.
