SEcRETARY said there was nothing in the paragraph which stated that all the meetings should be held in the provinces. The intention was that all the monthly meetings should not be held in London. They would try to divide them as much as possible. Wherever it was thought the most members would have a chance of attending, there they would summon the meeting. Mr. QUINN observed that there were certain papers which must be read in London to be ofany use. Therefore there would be meetings in London. Such papers as were thought desirable wofild be taken in London, and those concerning the provinces would be taken in the provinces. The PREsIDENT thought the language of the paragraph was reasonably clear, " and for at least the next year or so it is proposed to hold monthly meetings at ditierent provincial library centres." He should read that to mean not all, but some. Mr. KETTLE: Is there any idea as to the cost of these meetings? Mr. H. R. TenoER: Speaking as treasurer, I hope the cost will be met locally. Mr. MADELEY: Is the cost met locally when they are held in London? Mr. TEDDER: Yes, sir; largely. Mr. HERBERT JoNi-: s (Kensington) said while agreeing with Mr. Kettle's idea that London should not be left out in the cold, but should be kept reasonably warm, he thought it was very desirable that the fullest information should be given throughout the length and breadth of the land as to the methods and manner in which the Library Association conducted its work; and the best way to do that was to move the centre of interest from time to time, so that all the provincial centres should be interested in the work that went on.
