Roof, The tenant is bound to keep the external coverings, the roof, and other outworks, of the building in repair, and to renew them when they decay, so as to preserve the timbers, walls, and skeleton from premature decay. His obligation to do such repairs is not absolute, but relative, with reference to the condition of the main timbers and walls of the house in consequence of his neglect to do them. Thus, suffering houses to be uncovered, whereby the spars, rafters, planchers, or other timbers...
