What I fay therefore, is, Not that the Words of this Sentence are Not mine; but that, at that time when I was fpcaking particularly of Cbrijl's Kingdom, I Foundation of what I fay, has the Authority of Scripture on its fide: it being only in other Words what is in almoft every Page of the New Teftameiit. The Dean concludes this Paragraph with " leaving "Me to account for this Paflage; and the Reader to "confider in what manner I ufc the Name of f( our Lord and Mafter for a Shelter." I have now accounted for this Paffage. And the Reader cannot but fee that I have ufed the Name of our Lord and Mafter, in no other manner than that, in which All Chriftiau Writers, who have ever appeal'd to his Sayings and his Declarations, have done; in that fame manner, in which the Dean himfelf has ufed it, as well as All others of my Adverfaries, whenever They have appealed to Any of His Words, and interprete...
