J. Ashbaugh, Mr. S. A. Courtis and Dean W. F. liussell. following illustrative procedure will perhaps make clear the method to follow: Procedure: Go to the room, for example the fifth grade room. Select the large bundle labeled ' Fifth Grade.' Each bundle of five in this large bundle will also be labeled "5." Arrange the pupils in rows of five. This is for convenience in determining the time required for the slips. Place one of the stapled bundles of slips face down on the front desk. Also place one of the inclosed paper clips with each bundle. The clips are to be used to fasten the slips into bundles corresponding to the rows after the test is taken. It is inperative that the slips be kept in these bundles corresponding to rows. (In case the number of pupils in the room is not a multiple of five, the extras should constitute a row by themselves. Time should be taken for them as for the other rows. For example, if there should be a row of three pupils, the time taken should be that required for them to solve the first three of the five slips given them. This time should be recorded on the three slips and they should be clipped together.) As soon as this has been done ask the pupils of each row to pass the slips ta the front of the row--to the pupil who started the bundle. He is to collect the five slips for his row and clip them into a bundle, using he paper clip given him. In case of rows of less than five, these must also be clipped by rows.
