In the strongest manner possible, the apostle declares that the sins of believers are pardoned, and shows the ground on which this pardon rests.--Hodge. Of God's elect. This clause should be connected with the first clause of the next verse, and then it would read, God is He who justifies, who then can condemn? a triumphant answer to the question, Who shall lay anything to the charge of God's elect?
