Caleb Chapin, of Bernardston, b. July 2 or 13, 1736, son of Caleb and Catherine Chapin. He was a Revolutionary soldier, and was also under General Shepard at Springfield, in the Shay Rebellion. He d. Nov. 10,1815. Their issue were: --1. Caleb, b. Aug. 20, 1759; d. Nov. 28, 1838. 2. Rebecca, b. Nov. 26, 1761; d. May 13, 1766. 3. Zalmuna, b. April 3,1764; d. May 20, 1854. 4. Consider, b. Aug. 26, 1766. 5. Cyrenius, b. Feb. 7, 1769. 369. Ezekiel, b. in 1742. FIFTH GENERATION. (14) 366. Moses Bascom, eldest son of Ezekiel, b. at Deerfield, June 8, 1736; m. Sept. 22, 1760, Eunice Severance, at Deerfield. She died at Greenfield, July 21, 1802, and he mar. (pub. Jan. 7, 1805) Mrs. Experience Howland. He was for many years a deacon of the church at Greenfield, and died much respected, Sept. 19, 1805. His widow m. Feb. 3, 1808, Capt. Seth Lyman, of Northfield. Issue, all b. in Greenfield, were: --370. Moses, b. May 15, 1761. 371. Eunice, b. Feb. 5, 1763; m. Epaphroditus Loveland, and after becoming a widow, died by her own hand in 1810.
