I nqUlSltlOn taken at the Guildhall, 17th October, 6 Eliz. 1564, before John White, knight, mayor and escheator, after the death of Thomas Parrys, citizen and mercer of London, by the oath of John Hadden, William Gybbons, Richard Henman, Henry Sutton, Stephen Walden, Henry Callys, William Smythe, Thomas Dewxill, Robert Langwythe, Richard Smythe, John Wytton, John Noble, Michael Smythe, Robert Dyconson, Robert Crippes and John Wilsone, who say that Before the death of Thomas Parrys, William, Earl of Worcester, Lord Herbert of Chepstowe Bower and Raglan was seised of all that capital messuage or place called Worceter place, situate in the parish of St. James at Garlikehithe, London. So seised, the said Earl by charter dated 6th May, 5 Edw. VI. 1551, granted the said messuage to the said Thomas Parrys and Elizabeth his wife: to hold to them and to the heirs of the said Thomas for ever. The said premises are held of the Queen in free burgage and common socage, and are worth per annum, clear, 26 135. d. Thomas Parris died 20th May, 5 Eliz. 1563; Ralph Parrys is his son and next heir, and is now aged 22 years and more. The said Elizabeth, late the wife of the said Thomas still survives. Chan.
