Er war ganz Respekt und Ehrfurcht, nur ein verstecktes Augenleuchten sollte sagen: Ganz so, wie ich mich jetzt gebe, bin ich eigentlich nicht. Ich konnte anders sein, wenn du nur wolltest! Nach dem zweiten Zusammentreffen stellte er mit Genugtuung fest, dass die Methode eine glucklichere war. Mathilde hatte heute nicht mehr so verflucht koniginnenhaft uber ihn hinweggesehen, sondern seinen Blick fur einen Augenblick erwidert. Er zundete sich zufrieden eine Zigarette an.
