Excerpt: The Arena is located in the middle of Carthage, and is the place where the Lyoko Warriors enter Carthage via the Transport Orb or direct virtualization. The Arena is marked with the Eye of XANA. Whenever a Lyoko Warrior enter Carthage, he or she have to wait until the door opens. He or she can after that proceed onwards to the Core Zone. The arena is located directly above the chamber of the Core of Lyoko as the ceiling of the core chamber is the floor of the Arena. An Avatar (also called virtual structure or digital incarnation) is a template used by Franz Hopper and, more frequently, Jeremie to get another person into Lyoko. An Avatar is created by the Supercomputer automatically whenever a new person enters Lyoko for the first time. (Before a person first arrives on Lyoko, the picture on their Avatar shows a generic "person" icon.) Jeremie hypothesized in XANA Awakens that the Supercomputer is able to do this by taking the subconscious desires of a person and projecting them in the form of an Avatar.
