Excerpt: Hero Mode can be obtained mainly by purchase. In Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, Hero Mode cannot be obtained, but becomes available in the later games. Hero Mode allows the player to redo the game, but with their current Precursor Orb count, Metal Head Gem count and all of his weapon mods. The game's difficulty is also increased. In Jak 2 the hero must buy it with 200 precursor orbs, In Jak 3 the hero buys it with 5 precursor orbs, on Jak X you complete the game 100% and on The Lost Frontier it's earned after completing the game.
