Excerpt: Armanks (, Arman in Japan) are some of the more powerful enemies in The Subspace Emissary. They first appear in the first Wilds level. Although they look like large tanks, they are in reality nothing more than green blob-like creatures inside of vehicles. The vehicles that the creatures reside in bear similarities to a tank, but instead of a cannon, they are equipped with large, retractable arms similar to that of a construction crane. While the arm is retracted, Armanks are immune to any damage dealt to them, as well as only being able to roll around on their treads, which can deal damage to any player who makes contact with them. Eventually, they will extend their arm, which may then either shoot out in a ramming attack towards any nearby player, perform a sweeping attack along the ground, or fire two energy pulses in quick succession. In the event that the arm is destroyed, the Armank's chassis is forced open, revealing the actual enemy, which is the Armank's only vulnerable point.
