Excerpt: Abigail Silvestre Warren is a rancher who is searching for her brother Clive. Abigail doesn't like to talk about her childhood very much, much to the dismay of her brother Clive Silvestre Warren. What is known, however, is that her parents were dedicated Locken Loyalists and that she was stranded with her baby brother during the final stretch of the war. Even once it came to a close nothing really got any easier for her. With the loss of her parents she had to take care of her brother all on her own and for several years they lived in utter destitution. However, her hard work was not without repose as eventually she caught a break from a pair of nobles who recognized her parents valorous actions in the war and who, in pity, decided to sell her a few acres of farmland at reduced taxation in Aison. Putting her grief behind her, she left her homeland, baby brother in tow, and forged ahead doing whatever it took...
