Excerpt: Aerial is a young Overlander girl who was adopted into the Wolf Pack along with her twin sister Athena. Unlike her sister who is mute, Aerial usually finds herself having to speak for the both of them. While on their journey home, the Wolf Pack came across a destroyed, abandoned city during the start of a storm. Investigating noises from within one of the buildings, Lupe found a small Overlander girl; Lupe showed concern, but another Pack member, Reynard, thought it likely that other Overlanders were nearby, lying in wait. Fearing attack, Reynard said they should simply "get rid of the brat" and soon found himself being attacked by a second child, who feared for her sister's safety.
