Wojciechowicz was a linebacker and center for both the Detroit Lions (1938-1946) and the Philadelphia Eagles (1946-1950). He went to college at Fordham University and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1968. The detective Stan Wojciehowicz on the TV show Barney Miller is named after him in his honor.
