Excerpt: Adaia is a minor character that appears in the prequel DLC Leliana's Song for Dragon Age: Origins. She is a City Elf woman who is known to have a child. In the City Elf Origin story for the original game which takes place an unspecified number of years later, the deceased mother of the City Elf Warden was also named Adaia. Bioware's lead writer for Dragon Age, David Gaider, has since confirmed that the Adaia who appears in Leliana's Song is in fact the City Elf Warden's mother. In Leliana's Song, Adaia is encountered in the dungeons of the Arl of Denerim as one of Commander Harwen Raleigh's many victims. She is grateful to be released, telling Leliana she is "wonderful" and "a light in this dark place." She also promises to teach her child about humans like Leliana. In Origins, the City Elf Warden's mother is deceased. Before she passed away, she had lived in Denerim with her husband Cyrion and child. It was she who trained her child as either a warrior or a rogue and it is implied that she came across as something of a trouble-maker.
