Donizetti, l'Ange de Nisida et la Fiancee du Tgrol (qui devinrent plus tard la Favorite h l'Opera et la Fille du Regiment a l'Opera-Comique) nous seront offertes cet hiver. On parle aussi d'une nouvelle piece de M. Scribe, ayant pour titre la Nouvelle Psyche, dont l'illustre auteur de la Muette compose la musique. - traitement affecte a cette classe etait de 2,400 francs. - Avec cette somme, dit-il, mon journal et l'Institut, j'avais 400 francs par mois. Je me trouvai riche, et je n'ai exactement depense que cette somme jusqu'a l'extinction complete de mes dettes, extinction a laquelle je suis parvenu en 1853. - Pourtant, ce n'etait pas assez. II fallait me faire des droits d'auteur pour payer mes creanciers: on ne voulait pas de Giralda, et je ne savais que faire. Mocker vint me prier de lui composer un intermede, pour jouer une seule fois...
