Bei dem Mangel antiker Attribute kann hier also die Bestimmung des Namens nur von der Beurtheilung der Korperformen abhangen, die namentlich in der Gegend der Huften eine fast weibische Breite haben, wie sie mehr dem Bacchus als dem Apollo zukommt.--Der antike, aber nicht zur Statue gehorige Kopf ist der eines Bacchus mit Epheukranz und Tanie in dem leicht gewellten Haar. Die Ausfuhrung ist fluchtig, aber der weiche Charakter des Gottes im Ganzen wohl ausgedruckt. 104. Statue der Venus. Parischer Marmor. H. 1,40. Von Pacetti in Rom gekauft. Publicirt bei Clarac 613, 1375. Erganzt sind der Kopf, die Finger der 1. und einige der r. Hand, so wie der Schwanz des Delphins. Die Figur hat mit der knidischen (vgl. Nr. 131) die Motive der Stellung und der r. Hand gemein, unterscheidet sich aber von ihr durch die Bewegung der linken, welche, ohne ein Gewand heraufzuziehen, fast bis zur Hohe des Busens erhoben ist, indessen gewiss nicht, um den Apfel als Preis der Schonheit aus der Hand des Paris zu empfangen. Eher lasst sich vermuthen, dass sie einen Spiegel hielt, um darin ihre Reize zu prufen. Romische Arbeit ohne besonderen Werth. 105. Satyrstatue. Grobkorniger parischer Marmor. H. 1,77.
