About the Book

This historic book may have numerous typos and missing text. Purchasers can usually download a free scanned copy of the original book (without typos) from the publisher. Not indexed. Not illustrated. 1740 edition. Excerpt: ... ye be not judged of the Lord: Repent you truly for your Sins past; have a steads at! and lively Faith in Christ our Saviour; amend your Lives, and be in perfect Charity with all Men, so shall ye be-meet Partakers of t/xfe Holy Mysteries. The Remainder of this Objection is some of the grossest and vilest Abuse that I ever read; I have indeed unwillingly heard such Language in the Streets, but I should never have expected to have seen it in a Book, whose Author pretends the least Regard to Conscience. Part of what he charges many of our Communicants with, if % were true, I think he could not know it: Whether they have saving Knowledge or Faith, fist. And who art thou that judgest another? To hi$ own Master he standeth or salleth. But as the bad wjll ever mingle with the good, if we stiould allow, that possibly there may be some Communicants who are unworthy Receivers, it must be...
