Not illustrated. 1898 Excerpt: ...in the Suffolk deeds, 1640, 1642, and 1643, as "captain and commander" of the "pinnace St. John," also styled " a certain ffrigot called the John." According to the data aforesaid, Richard (a) and Richard (b) may be the same. (a) Hugh Parsons appears on the Springfield Records in 1645, when he married Mary Lewis of Wales. He died, June 18, 1675, at Watertown. (b) Hugh Parsons, born 1613, was made freeman of Portsmouth, R. I., in 1663; he enlisted in a troop of horse August 10, 1667, and died in 1684. His family became extinct. Samuel Parsons, aged 20, from the New Haven Colony, united with the settlers at East Hampton, L. I., in 1650; he died October 3, 1728. The names of his children suggest that he was a younger brother of Thomas (3, d) and Cornet Joseph (1). Deacon Benjamin Parsons, brother of Cornet Joseph (1), was one of a committee to organize a new settlement at Longmeadow, 1651; he married, i, Sarah Vore of Windsor, November 6, 1653, and ii, Sarah Heald Leonard of Springfield, February 21, 1677; he died August 24, 1689. Jeffrey Parsons, born at Alphington, Devonshire, England, 1631, was at Gloucester, Mass., 1657, in which year he married Sarah Vinson; he died August, 1689. Mark Parsons, of Sagadhock, Maine, appeared, with other inhabitants of the east side of the Kennebec 15 Bee note on page 118. 16 17 18 10 20 21 23 River, to take the oath of supremacy and allegiance September 5, 1665. George Parsons of Boston, Mass., married Eliza Wheelwright, and had a son, Joseph, born August 18, 1667. John Parsons, of York, had a son, John, born July 31,1677; took oath of allegiance, 1681. 2.
