Extrait: Martin Heidegger (prononce ou, parfois ), ne le 26 septembre 1889 et mort le 26 mai 1976, est un philosophe allemand. D'abord disciple d'Edmund Husserl et de la phenomenologie, il s'achemine rapidement vers la question de l'etre ou ontologie. Apres ce qu'il appelle lui-meme le - tournant - de sa pensee (annees 1930), il s'interesse tout particulierement aux presocratiques et developpe les bases de ce qui deviendra, avec Gadamer, l'hermeneutique. Auteur d'Etre et Temps (Sein und Zeit), Heidegger est considere comme l'un des philosophes les plus influents du siecle: sa demarche a notamment influence la philosophie existentialiste, la phenomenologie ulterieure, la philosophie postmoderne, l'hermeneutique allemande, ainsi que d'autres sciences humaines comme la theologie et la psychanalyse. Membre du NSDAP, les rapports de Heidegger avec le nazisme sont l'objet de controverses. Eleve dans un milieu tres catholique (son pere est sacristain), Heidegger fait des etudes secondaires au Lycee jesuite de Constance, ensuite de Fribourg. Puis, a l'Universite de Fribourg-en-Brisgau, il suit un enseignement soutenu en theologie, des cours de philosophie, mais aussi de mathematiques et de sciences. Il se destine, sans conviction, a la pretrise avant d'abandonner la religion. Il dira plus tard que celle-ci est radicalement incompatible avec la philosophie.
