Genus ARIAMNES (Ar-i-am'nes) The lateral eyes of each side are close together; the middle eyes are widely separated, those of each side being near to the lateral eyes, thus forming a group of four eyes on each side. The cephalothorax has a deep transverse furrow near the middle, and the abdomen is elongate. These spiders are remarkable for the slender form and great length of the abdomen, which is extended in a worm-like prolongation far beyond the spinnerets (Fig. 326). The following species is the only representative of the genus known to occur in our territory. Ariamnes fictilius (A. fic-til'i-us).--This species is light yellow and silvery white in colour, with three darker bands on the cephalothorax and one on the middle of the abdomen.
