Her case represents a highly controversial and debated issue of Hungarian-Slovak relations. Malina claims she was severely beaten and robbed on August 25, 2006 in Nitra after speaking Hungarian in public. She claims her attackers wrote "SK (probably Slovakia) without parasites" (Slovak: ), and "Hungarians to the other side of the Danube" (Ma ari za Dunai) on her clothes. Note that "Dunai" was written with a minor spelling mistake.
