Foo Fighters consists of Grohl (vocals and guitar), Taylor Hawkins (drums), Nate Mendel (bass), Chris Shiflett (guitar), and Pat Smear (guitar). The band's self-titled debut album (1995) peaked at number twenty three on the Billboard 200 and was certified platinum in the United States. The album's first single, "This Is a Call" was a top ten hit in both the UK and Australia. Their follow-up album The Colour and the Shape (1997) charted higher, reaching number ten on the Billboard 200, and went platinum in the US, Australia and Canada.
