Excerpt: Kristian Arran "Kris" Commons (born 30 August 1983 in Mansfield, England) is an English-born Scottish footballer who currently plays as a left winger for Scottish Premier League club Celtic and the Scotland national team. Commons' previous clubs include Stoke City, Nottingham Forest and Derby County. Commons was educated at Quarrydale School in Sutton-in-Ashfield. Commons started his football career at Notts County. Commons signed a professional contract with Stoke City on his 17th birthday and made his debut in a 3-2 Football League Trophy defeat away to Blackpool on 16 October 2001.
