The most recent version, Final Cut Pro X, runs on Intel-based Mac OS computers powered by OS X version 10.6.8 or later. Final Cut Pro X (FCPX), released in 2011, rewrote the code from the ground up with a complete change in interface and operation. Because there is little in common between the two versions, there is a rift between the older system, the last version called FCP v7.0.3 and the FCPX revisions that have followed.
