Within Zimbabwe he is known as "Chappie" Coventry. He previously held the record of the highest individual score in a One Day International, 194 runs not out. This was surpassed by Sachin Tendulkar's 200 on 24 February 2010. He is the highest ODI scorer in a losing cause, surpassing Matthew Hayden's 181. Coventry was born on 8 March 1983 at Kwekwe, in Midlands in Zimbabwe.
