Wahrend namlich im Timaus die Seelen in die Korper eintreten infolge eines Weltgesetzes, fuhrt Plato hier223 diesen Eintritt auf einen Abfall der Seelen von ihrer ursprunglichen Bestimmung zuruck. Um aber einen solchen Abfall motivieren zu konnen, fugt Plato in der Darstellung des Phadrus den sterblichen Teil der Seele zum unsterblichen Teile schon im Praexistenzzustande224. Im Timaus dagegen tritt dieser sterbliche Teil erst mit dem Korper zur unsterblichen Seele hinzu. Dieses Hinzufugen jener Seelenteile ist in dieser Lehre vom Abfall unbedingt notig, denn wie wollte Plato sonst einen solchen Abfall erklaren225? 221 Es sind hier nur die Fixsterne gemeint.
