La baie a des branches innombrables, dans lesquelles on peut se placer en toute securite et echapper a toutes les recherches. Elle communique avec trois lacs situes au sud-ouest, et ces trois lacs avec un autre du meme nom, contigu a la mer, ou il se trouve une ile formee par les deux bras de ce lac et par l'Ocean. Les cotes Est et Ouest de cette ile furent fortifies, l'annee 1811, par une bande de pirates, sous le commandement d'un certain monsieur La Fitte.
