Was aus dieser Malerei herauskam, war nun freilich nicht sonderlich, jedoch hatte es der Junger bereits so weit gebracht, als der Meister. Wenn aber der damalige Schildcreihandler Schutz in dem Tabackscollegium den, Konige einen Louisd'or fur jedes fertige Stuck bot, so war es sein Ernst; cr hatte auch darinnen nicht so gar Unrecht, wenn er rechnete, bei solcher Konigs-Arbcit das Doppelte und Dreifache zu gewinnen.--Der Konig hatte den Vilderhandler nur rufen lassen, um zu erfahren, wie viel er taglich mit seiner Kunst verdienen konne lind da er funf Tage zu einem Portrait brauchte, war er zufrieden, sicher zu sein, fur den schlimmsten Fall sein Brod mit Malen verdienen zu konnen, da er taglich mit einem Thaler gut auszukommen glaubte.--Da einige Mitglieder des Tabackscollegiums dennoch Bedenken ausserten, dass
