Le 17 janvier, dans un engagement avec ce meme regiment San-Fernando, M. Merget, capitaine de voltigeurs, fut blesse mortellement; plaisir et catastrophe dans la meme journee, car nous etions reunis chez ce brave officier et celebrions gaiement sa fete, le verre en main, lors de la visite tres inopportune pour nous en ce moment de messieurs les Espagnols. Le mont Olivet fut pris et repris plusieurs fois. Enfin, un convoi arriva le 26 fevrier et nous fumes releves de cette penible garnison dans laquelle nous avions assez souffert pour meriter d'en sortir. A notre retour a Girone, nous recumes l'ordre de rejoindre notre regiment en Cerdagne, ce que nous fimes en suivant la meme route que nous avions deja parcourue pour passer de cette province dans la Catalogne. Arrives a Puycerda, les soldats de notre bataillon furent verses dans les deux autres, et le cadre partit pour Savone, ou etait le depot, af1n d'y recevoir des recrues. Je ne...
