Alonzo Holl, second child of Mannassa Holl, (third generation, ) was born near New Berlin, O., August 27,1852. He received his education in the common schools, where his parents resided. At the age of eighteen he began the carpenter trade, and followed it more or less regularly for eight or ten pears. In 1880 he rented a farm from John Sheets, one-half mile north of New Berlin, and began farming. The next year he rented a farm of E. C. Sheets near Zion Church. In 1883 he purchased the Thomas Hill property, one mile north of New Berlin, Ohio, where he resides at present. On September 6, 1874, he married Romaina Shaeffer. The first years of their married life they resided in New Berlin. Their children were born, viz: Ida, February 20, 1875; Flora E., August 15th, 1876; Minnie, May 17, 1879; Lloyd A., March 22, 1882; Eva, February 15, 1884. Mr. Holl is a member of the German Baptist Church. ROMAINA SHAEFFER, Daughter of Adam and Matilda (Willaman) Shaeffer, was born in New Berlin, Ohio. She is a member of the German Baptist Church. ADA HOLL.--Fourth Generation. Ada, third child of Mannassa Holl, (third generation, ) was born near New Berlin, Ohio, December 25, 1854. In her youthful years she had a severe siege of scarlet fever, which affected herh earing and which has been poor ever since. On the 28th of January, 1877, she was united in marriage with William F. Hershey. The next spring they began house keeping in Jackson Township, three miles west of New Berlin, Ohio. The next spring (1878) they removed to New Berlin where they reside at present. Mrs. Hershey is a member of the Progressive Brethren Church. Their children were born, viz: Lilly May, April ..
