About the Book

This historic book may have numerous typos and missing text. Purchasers can download a free scanned copy of the original book (without typos) from the publisher. Not indexed. Not illustrated. 1909 Excerpt: ...4 days from the 19th to the 22nd April the divisions of Morand and Gudin covered no less than 81 miles, and that included some fighting on the march to Landshut, and in the capture of that place, besides a good deal of marching straight across a rainsoaked country. He had already, on the morning of that day, ordered Massna to Straubing, and the Crown Prince of Bavaria to Landshut. In the evening, orders were sent to Massena to move on Passau, and to Lefebvre to go with Deroy's and Demont's divisions to Landshut. Early on the morning of the 24th, orders issued for the movement of all the remaining troops at Ratisbon, excepting only Davout's corps (the 3rd)...
